A veteran media strategist, Roger leads concept, scriptwriting and production for cable, TV and online advertising for our clients. He has worked on high-profile organizing, bargaining, and public policy campaigns for the AFL-CIO, the United Auto Workers, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the National Wildlife Federation and other labor, environmental and non-profit organizations.

Chris Savage, Digital Strategy

Chris SavageChris Savage was an industrial R&D chemist for over 30 years before retiring in 2020 to pursue a freelance career in communications. In 2008, while still working as a chemist, he started Eclectablog.com, a progressive news and opinion site focused largely on Michigan politics. He has written extensively about education, labor, Emergency Managers, and the corporatists' efforts to steal our tax dollars for their own personal profit. His writing about Detroit's so-called Education Achievement Authority contributed to it being disbanded after shortchanging the students, parents, and educators in Detroit.

Carissa Poroko, marketing and media relations

RK Communications Carissa PorokoCarissa has been putting her innovative ideas to work for more than 20 years to help labor unions and nonprofit organizations win campaigns, strengthen their brands, and raise their visibility.

She coordinated marketing, logistics, technology support and media relations communications strategies supporting the launch of President Obama’s “Making Home Affordable” program in Chicago. This large-scale, collaborative effort that helped hundreds of homeowners apply for loan modifications through a program to prevent home foreclosures.

Scott Mann, videographer

RK Communications Scott Mann VideographerScott is an award-winning videographer who can shoot, edit, direct and produce compelling video projects from concept to completion. For more than a decade, Scott worked as a senior producer at Michigan Media, the University of Michigan’s in-house production facility.

His recent credits include camera, sound and editing on “Never a Bystander,’ a documentary about holocaust survivor Irene Butter.
